About  John Montague

John Montague was inspired by the wonderful music of the 60s. He learned guitar from the songs of the Beatles and the Kinks etc during the peak of British song writing, and carried this amazing legacy through the next two decades, gaining valuable experience on the cabaret and function band circuit.

He was a founder member of Nightjar, Beyond the Bend and the delightfully named Aband-n-Annie. Later he formed Dr Bobs Acoustic Roots Band using his musical rapport and warm stage persona to build a following through out his county.

Destiny took a hand in the early 90s when circumstances allowed him to turn fully professional, allowing more time (full time, in fact ) to concentrate on his Acoustic Guitar performing and organizing abilities. He began performing further a field, throughout the UK and Europe, and at the turn of the millennium opened his prestigious website shop www.allguitars.com, selling quality guitars and equipment. His professionalism, knowledge and personal service impressed many international luthiers, and in 2004, in the face of enormous competition, John was invited to become UK & European distributor for Fred Welker Guitars of Nashville Tennessee.

In whatever spare time he has managed, John has founded several Acoustic Clubs in Leicestershire, encouraging and helping aspiring musicians of all ages and standards to perform in a professional environment. These clubs, with the typical Montague atmosphere of friendship and good songs, and an unspoken but manifest credo of Music is fun, enjoy! have also played host to many established and international artistes during their tours and visits this country.

A warm, modest and obvious talent, John Montague can and still does fill a room with songs and humour, from country to blues to pop; in solo or group format. He will provide a whole night of quality music and, well it has to be said, pretty awful jokes that will absolutely guarantee your total enjoyment.
